Dubai: A woman thrust a burning cigarette into the face of a taxi driver to prevent herself from being raped in a deserted area hours before her departing flight was due to take off.
Records said the 28-year-old Syrian taxi driver kidnapped the 32-year-old British visitor and attempted to molest her. Meanwhile, he dismissed her allegations and accused her of refusing to pay the Dh106 fare.
The suspect, H.A., denied the charges and pleaded not guilty when he stood trial at the Dubai Court of First Instance on Monday.
